What's actually on the list
The dye is where it starts. Everything here is fiber reactive dye, Procion MX, because it forms a permanent covalent bond with cotton instead of sitting on the surface and washing out. That bond is the whole reason these pieces hold their color.
Soda ash is the other half of that reaction. It raises the pH of the fabric so the dye can bond at all. Without it the color rinses right out. It's not optional, it's the step that makes fiber reactive dye permanent.
Then there's the supporting cast, and none of it is filler. Urea for keeping fabric damp and helping dye dissolve in dry application. Squeeze bottles for placing color where you want it, the smaller tips for detail work. Gloves, because reactive dye bonds to skin the same way it bonds to cotton. Measuring tools, because concentration is the difference between a color you can repeat and a color you got once by accident. And 100% cotton blanks, because fiber reactive dye only bonds to natural fiber. Polyester takes none of it.
